Effective management is the most important determinant of organizational performance and development. Overall success of the organization largely depends on orientation or vision of the managers and their competencies to influence people positively towards achieving common goals and ensure efficiency in resource mobilization. This is equally true in all organizations regardless of objectives, size, and ownership pattern- private or public.
Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) is an autonomous institution established to conduct research on different aspects of agriculture in the country, identify the existing problems in agriculture and find out the solution, and assist government in formulation of agricultural policies and strategies. In the organization like NARC, the role of managers is crucial in terms of managing research activities, promoting research consulting services and developing overall capabilities in providing policy suggestions to the government through effective utilization of resources, and maintaining balance in the conflicting interests of multiple stakeholders in between the processes.
In this connection, upon request with training needs assessment by NARC, Nepal Administrative Staff College has designed a seven-days training course on Managerial Excellence for the officers working in the areas of animal science research and fishery in National Animal Science Research Institute (NASRI). The course is a composite package of managerial skills and competencies essential for better managerial performance.
